Added: 16.09.2014 14:12 | 54 views | 0 comments
VRFocus - Its been an interesting if frustrating few months to follow HyperSloth Games upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible adventure videogame, Dream. While development on the title itself seems to be progressing steadily, support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) has hit something of a speedbump in that the titles engine, the Unreal Development Kit, is yet to be updated to feature support for the devices second development kit (DK2), stopping the team from adding the latest support. This week brings more positive news, however, as Dream has been confirmed to be coming to EGX London.

VRFocus - Last weekend VRFocus reported that Tammeka Games had successfully secured funding to develop a full version of its upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible sci-fi racing title, Radial-G. The news arrived after the indie developer had failed to secure £50,000 GBP in funding via a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign that included heavy advertising and a demo. Now the developer has confirmed that it will be updating that demo with a raft of new features ahead of the full version's late-2014 release with full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD).

VRFocus - As virtual reality (VR) enthusiasts will already know, there are far more VR head-mounted displays (HMD) currently in development other than the Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus. Earlier this month Samsung made a huge impression on the scene with its Gear VR smartphone-based HMD while others have either quietly released or seen successful Kickstarter campaigns. Vrvana hopes to launch join the latter category over the coming weeks as it launches a Kickstarter campaign for its Totem HMD later this week.

You can do some cool shit with the Oculus Rift: You can simulate what flying feels like, or use it to pick out your next car. And if you have less experience with the female anatomy than Steve Carell in The 40 Year Old Virgin, now you can use it to simulate grabbing a handful of boob. This is creepy. Ah, technology.
